Martin Del Prado - President
Commencing his career as an apprentice within LU IBEW 456, Martin Del Prado ascended the ranks to assume roles of increasing responsibility, including Foreman and General Foreman. His extensive hands-on involvement spans diverse environments such as expansive data centers, medical facilities, life science campuses, and utility sites, among others.
While actively contributing in the field, Martin Del Prado concurrently pursued academic advancement, enrolling in NJIT’s Engineering Management program and diligently attending evening classes. His dedication led to successive promotions, first as a proficient BIM ("Building Information Modeling") Engineer and subsequently as a proficient Project Manager.
This trajectory culminated in his ascension from Project Manager to Project Executive and eventually to the esteemed position of Vice President/Director of Operations. In this elevated role, he provided oversight to a substantial workforce exceeding 100 IBEW Electricians, Project Managers, and Superintendents. Martin Del Prado's accomplishments are augmented by a portfolio of esteemed certifications, alongside his role as an instructor, where he adeptly conveyed his knowledge in BIM Engineering and Apprenticeship classes for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
The remarkable journey spanning from his initial apprenticeship to his adept management of over 100 IBEW electricians, coupled with his adept orchestration of multi-million-dollar projects, uniquely equips Martin Del Prado to spearhead DPI in establishing an innovative industry benchmark.
Nicholas Gallo - Director of Operations
Nicholas boasts over 20 years of experience in the electrical contracting industry, having been a part of I.B.E.W. #164. He accumulated significant field experience, which led to six years as a superintendent and project manager before joining DPI Electric and Communications in 2024.
Throughout his career, he advanced from General Foreman to Superintendent, Project Manager, and finally to Director of Operations, becoming proficient in all facets of the industry. Despite his numerous accomplishments, he proudly maintains his union card.
With the majority of his two-decade tenure spent on various projects such as amusement parks, data centers, hospitals, tenant fit-outs, and most recently, utility gas infrastructure and instrumentation upgrades, Nicholas has acquired expertise in estimating, project management, contract negotiations, budget preparation, and planning. He offers invaluable insight to each of his clients.
As a crucial member of DPI’s Electrical Management team, Nicholas specializes in electrical and communications performance for commercial, industrial, retail, and private sector clients. Active in numerous industry associations, he exhibits a commitment to traditional values and client satisfaction, making him an indispensable asset to DPI Electric and Communications.
John Pakenham - Superintendent
John Pakenham, with an illustrious 33-year career in Local 456, stands out as a premier General Superintendent for DPI Electric and Communications Inc. His extensive experience as a General Foreman across a diverse range of high-stakes projects underscores his exceptional capability to lead and deliver outstanding results.
John Pakenham’s vast experience includes managing projects for laboratories at renowned facilities such as Bristol Myers Squibb, Union Carbide, and BASF. His expertise extends to data centers, having directed construction and electrical installations for major companies including Nomura, Barclay, BNP, DRT, DuPont, and Goldman Sachs. He also spearheaded the installation of a 40,000-panel solar field in Edison, NJ, showcasing his proficiency in large-scale renewable energy projects.
Moreover, John’s expertise in healthcare facilities is notable. He oversaw significant projects at Princeton Hospital, ensuring that the highest standards of electrical work were met in a sensitive and demanding environment. At Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, he led the 4-year renovation of the Emergency Room and the expansion and renovation of the Operating Room, demonstrating his ability to manage long-term, intricate healthcare projects with precision.

Andy Lai - Superintendent
Andy Lai began his career as a non-union electrician, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the field before joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 456. His dedication and expertise quickly propelled him through the ranks, where he took on pivotal roles such as Foreman and General Foreman. Throughout his career, Andy has worked on a diverse array of projects, including educational facilities, residential high-rises, and pharmaceutical sites.
Beyond his on-site contributions, Andy is a dedicated member of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Local 456. As an educator, he specializes in fire alarm systems, controls, and data, sharing his extensive knowledge and ensuring the next generation of electricians are well-prepared for the industry’s challenges.
Andy’s unique blend of specialized technical skills and his experience managing large-scale projects—sometimes overseeing teams of up to 50 workers—has led him to his current role as a supervisor at DPI Electric. In this capacity, he leverages his broad skill set and leadership abilities to oversee complex projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
